The painting on the right is called Harlem, 1934, by Edward Burra. This piece is included in a book entitled
The History of British Art Edited by David Bindman, reviewed in the Weekend FT by Jackie Wullschlager. The book is in three volumes and sounds like it will caste British art in a new, interesting light.
